Self-Service Settlement Booking (SSB) service

SAI Global Property’s online Self-Service Booking (SSB) service has done much to improve cooperation between lenders and conveyancers in the critical period leading up to settlement.
 
The system works in the following way: once a matter is ready to book for settlement, our in-house Settlement Manager system will send the legal practitioner or conveyancer an email notification inviting them to make an online booking with the financial institutions we represent.
 
They will also be provided with a self- service booking key (SSB/eSS key) which is the password to the bank’s matter in our system. Once there they can book settlement, enter settlement cheque details (purchases) and view final payout figures updated by the bank (releases/discharges).
 
They can also check to see what total funds are available for settlement cheques. This amount is updated prior to issuing the SSB/eSS key to ensure cheque requests do not exceed the loan limit or settlement funds.
 
The key benefit of SSB functionality to financial institutions is that it: 
  • Eliminates incoming calls from legal representatives and conveyancers
  • Makes conveyancers and legal practitioners more accountable for accuracy of cheque details.
