Background
Suzanne has more than 20 years of experience in engineering and business management. Specifically, she has worked in diverse positions including process engineer, environmental manager, engineering manager, and a variety of consulting roles. Throughout her industrial and consulting experience, Suzanne has acted as a change agent. She played a major role in the implementation of participatory management, Total Quality Management (TQM), ISO 9001 Quality Systems and Environmental Management Systems for Corning, Inc.’s Wilmington fiber optic plant. As a senior consultant for SAI Global, her innovative approaches led to IBM’s, HP’s, and Agilent’s world-wide registrations to ISO14001. She continued to demonstrate her ingenuity by assisting with the development of the first ISO14001 registered EMS for a major swine producer. She has extended these capabilities to include OHSAS 18001 and fully integrated management systems that are tailored to client needs to improve performance.

Suzanne has hands-on experience in several industries including the telecommunications, chemical/ petrochemical, pulp and paper, electronics, automotive and agriculture. Suzanne’s diverse chemical and manufacturing engineering experience allows her to quickly understand and evaluate process control systems for product quality, environmental and/or health and safety compliance. One of Suzanne’s specialties is the development of environmental health and safety management systems including compliance strategies, risk management and pollution prevention. In addition, Suzanne is instrumental in applying and optimizing air and wastewater control technologies.
Credentials
Suzanne received her Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1981. She is an RABQSA-certified Lead Auditor for ISO 14001 and RCMS/RC14001 (Responsible Care) and a Licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina. Over the years, Suzanne has been associated with several professional organizations including the Professional Engineers of North Carolina (PENC), EPA’s Multi-State Working Group on Environmental Mgmt. Systems (MSWG), the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AICHE), the Livestock Environmental Management Systems Advisory Council, the Carolinas Air Pollution Control Association (CAPCA), the American Furniture Manufacturer’s Association (AFMA), and the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI).
